Photographs from ten photographers and accompanying essays from 12 writers highlight Little Cottonwood Canyon's diverse recreation opportunities, wildlife and the canyon's history of skiing. Howie Garber sums up his motivation for creating this book: “Only capturing pure beauty seems hedonistic and socially irresponsible. It is important to document what we are trying to save as well as what we are destroying at a fast pace.” The canyon is a jewel that should be preserved and protected from interference by commercial interests. Proceeds from this book support Friends of Alta and their lawsuit against construction of the gondola in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
